Gunfire hit and damaged several tents at a displacement site in northern Rafah in Gaza on Tuesday, UN News reported. According to the United Nations aid coordination office, the incident reportedly caused injuries and forced a humanitarian partner organisation to leave the site. [1]

The non-governmental organisation had been working on flood control measures ahead of the rainy season, UN News reported. Small arms fire was also reported near a facility contracted by the United Nations in Deir al-Balah on the same day. [1]

Rafah contains the border crossing that serves as Gaza's only non-Israeli-controlled outlet to Egypt for civilian movement and aid. As FTMQ World reported earlier, aid operations in Gaza faced recent suspensions after the closure of the Kerem Shalom crossing, while humanitarian groups warned of severe challenges as families prepare for winter.
