United States President Donald Trump holds a 32 percent job approval rating on the eve of national midterm elections, Al Jazeera English reported. The latest Reuters and Ipsos poll shows that approval for the president remains near a record low, rising by one percentage point from his rating two weeks earlier. [1]
Voters also showed a preference for opposition candidates ahead of the congressional votes. Al Jazeera English reported that 46 percent of surveyed respondents said they would prefer to vote for a generic Democrat, compared to 38 percent who preferred a generic Republican candidate. President Trump himself is not on the ballot for the upcoming election. [1]
As FTMQ World reported earlier in October, President Trump previously hit a matching record low approval rating of 32 percent overall. That earlier survey showed his approval among Hispanic voters had dropped to 24 percent, with Hispanic voters favoring the Democratic Party over the Republican Party by a two-to-one margin. [9]
Donald Trump currently serves as the 47th president of the United States as a member of the Republican Party, having previously served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021. [7]
