First polls close in US midterm elections for Congress control

The first polls have begun closing across the United States after a full day of voting in the midterm elections on Tuesday, Al Jazeera reported. Control of the United States Congress is at stake in the vote. [1]

All 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 Senate seats are up for grabs, according to Al Jazeera. Democrats are aiming to regain control of the House of Representatives and are optimistic about winning back the Senate from Republicans once all ballots are counted. [1]
