United States President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social on Saturday that he has offered the position of White House press secretary to Ultimate Fighting Championship chief executive officer Dana White. France 24, the South China Morning Post, and the BBC all reported that Trump urged White to take the role, describing him in his post as a violent fighter and warrior. [1][2][3]

The public job offer came while Trump was at his Florida golf club, according to the South China Morning Post. The BBC noted that it asked the White House, the UFC, and its parent company TKO Group Holdings whether the offer was genuine. CNN later reported, citing a source, that White declined the president's offer. [2][3][5]

The press secretary role has been open since mid-October, when former press secretary Katie Zacharia departed after less than a week on the job, the BBC and South China Morning Post reported. As FTMQ World reported earlier, Zacharia took over the position in October after Karoline Leavitt left the post in August. [2][3][13][14]

White is an American businessman who serves as the president and chief executive officer of the UFC, a global mixed martial arts organisation. The public offer follows recent political developments, including a midterm election defeat for the Republican Party that led Trump to tap his longtime adviser Stephen Miller to be White House chief of staff, according to Al Jazeera.
