Students and faculty from the University of Tirana gathered outside the Education Ministry in Albania on Tuesday to continue anti-corruption protests. Deutsche Welle reported that the building still had broken windows and soot-blackened walls from earlier demonstrations on October 13. Police have attempted to suppress the ongoing youth unrest. [1]

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama claimed that antifa was behind the unrest, according to Deutsche Welle. The outlet reported that few people believed that explanation. Deutsche Welle noted that the peaceful anti-government demonstrations have continued for nearly five months, initially sparked by plans involving Jared Kushner, a son-in-law of United States President Donald Trump. As FTMQ World reported earlier, demonstrations turned violent in Tirana as protesters clashed with riot police while demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. Protesters threw stones and firecrackers, while police responded with tear gas and water cannon. Fires in central Tirana damaged shops, banks, and roadside structures. [4]

According to Wikipedia, student protests over poor school and economic conditions spread across Europe after starting in France in September 2026. Albania is a unitary parliamentary republic located in Southeastern Europe. [2][3]
